One Habit that Significantly Improved the Quality of My Life
Science says it can significantly improve your life too
There has been such a habit: exercising. By the way, my story is not a fluke. This habit helped many people to drastically improve their lives.
Charles Duhigg in his book “The Power of Habit” described how scientists were looking for life-changing factors. Starting the research, they had a picture of some significant events in mind: getting married, death in the family, the birth of the first baby, a terrible car accident, and so on. This is what we normally think of a life change, don’t we?
They discovered that behind most individual life changes were changes in daily habits. They also narrowed down a couple of keystone habits — activities that make creating more good habits seemingly effortless. One of them was healthy eating. The other was exercising.
Exercises
This habit saved my life. Not in some dramatic sense; I didn’t start running marathons while 300 lbs. overweight. Nope.
My whole life had been going steadily downhill for years. I was aimless and I felt no sense of purpose in my life.
