Author’s Circle of Influence

(when it comes to a book’s page on Amazon)

Amazon can be a quite frustrating platform for self-publishing. There are so many things we, authors, cannot control there; huge things like whether or not they will suddenly shut down your account; or small things like a new negative review appearing at the top of your review feed and discouraging a big chunk of potential readers from buying your book.

However, keep your mind at home, don’t let it chase those doom and gloom scenarios. There are some things authors can definitely control on their book page. Let’s focus on them. You can tweak the below items, and all of them have concrete impact on your conversion rates (read: book sales).

How do I know? I advertised hundreds of books on Amazon. I saw the data. Those elements increase your sales. In fact, nowadays, I advise every new customer of mine to go over this list and setup/fix all below items. That way, both they and I can make more money.

Thus, in order of importance:

1. Book Description.

I’ve already written a couple blog posts about it, so I won’t repeat myself here. Here are the tools and systems that will make writing your book description easy… ish.
